CASE STUDY
Distribution Rationalization for Multi-Affiliate Global Asset Manager
Cerulli tested and evaluated the perception of individual boutique brands attached with the parent company among key allocator audiences—wealth managers, pension funds, consultants, private banks, and insurance companies—across several categories and countries. Based on quantitative and qualitative insights, Cerulli delivered a centralized distribution model and brand strategy that enabled a more efficient go-to-market approach.

CASE STUDY
Post-Acquisition Integration and Distribution Model for International Asset Manager
After the acquisition of two U.S.-based asset managers, a specialized international asset manager leveraged Cerulli’s expertise to assist with the integration of affiliate managers and expand their presence in the U.S. market. Cerulli reviewed the company’s U.S. distribution strategy—including target channels, preferred product structures, and necessary staffing resources—and developed a market entry and integration strategy. Cerulli identified key distribution channels and intermediaries for growth while also uncovering key demand points and product structure preferences. In addition, Cerulli proposed restructured distribution and product development resources and optimal product and pricing structures to position the firm for growth and increase its U.S. marketshare.

CASE STUDY
U.S. RIA Aggregator Centralization and Scale Strategy
A large-scale registered investment advisor (RIA) firm focused on acquiring other mid-sized RIAs sought to better understand how to create efficiencies and improve scale across its affiliate RIAs. Cerulli leveraged its best-in-class RIA advisor data and executive interviews with RIA advisors and executives to help inform for which services advisors are most likely to use centralized resources and outsourced solutions, including technology investment management and operations. Cerulli developed a series of actionable strategic recommendations for the RIA aggregator to better deploy existing centralized services across its affiliate RIA firms, as well as a roadmap for providing additional services and products not currently offered on its platform.
