Bridge the Age and Wealth Gap

Create a Service Model to Tailor Offerings to any Client Profile

Whether it's an organic or inorganic growth strategy, Cerulli can help you prepare for the future with a complete picture of where wealth is today, where it will be tomorrow, and the service models needed as wealth changes hands.

Advanced Segmentation 1

Economies of Scale

Leading wealth management firms have been actively acquiring and investing in scalable technology and product solutions while building service structures that cater to clients across the entire wealth spectrum.

Advanced Segmentation 2

Unified Advisory Platform

Our research finds that by having integrated business lines (i.e., private banking, trust, brokerage, asset management, investment and commercial banking) and back-end operating systems, banks can maximize their potential as a one-stop shop for nearly every financial services need clients may have.

Advanced Segmentation 3

Mergers & Acquisitions

Demand for services continues to grow in the wealth management space while fees have remained relatively flat. Wealth managers need greater efficiency and resources to invest in improving client experiences and integrating services. As a result of these competitive dynamics, more scaled and integrated firms that can provide seamless and comprehensive financial services experiences for their clients have begun to gain momentum. Firms are looking to merger and acquisition opportunities to achieve scale and sustainably compete in the race for assets.

By the numbers

The top-three goals driving M&A strategies among bank executives

More than two-thirds (68%) of banks are actively considering M&A, and 53% indicate they are actively recruiting advisors or teams from other firms.

62% of banks and trust companies considering M&A are considering acquiring and integrating a smaller firm from their channel, while only 38% are considering merging with a peer of equivalent size.
