Thomas V. Ciampi is the founder and director of Latin Asset Management, with whom Cerulli Associates has a strategic relationship for coverage of the Latin American asset management marketplace. Latin Asset Management is the chief provider of Latin American content for Cerulli Global Update, and The Cerulli Edge—Global Edition, and has been co-authoring with Cerulli a series of stand-alone reports since 2001.

Tom is also the head of the web portal Fund Pro Latin America (www.fundpro.com), an essential tool for asset management professionals doing business in the region.

A graduated journalist, Tom has specialized in the asset management business in Latin America since 1994, covering the launch of the Argentine pension fund system and the early growth of the mutual fund industry. He then launched a Buenos Aires-based newsletter focusing on the technical and competitive aspects of these businesses, and the product soon grew to cover most major Latin American markets.

Following the sale of this business to Thomson Financial in 1998, Tom served three years as a director of Thomson’s asset management business for Latin America.

Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, Tom was born and raised in New Jersey, and received a BA degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1990.
