Analyst, Wealth Management
Position Overview
Associate Analyst, Wealth Management
This associate analyst position works within the Wealth Management practice and reports to a Director, Wealth Management. It is a hybrid role in the Boston office. The primary function of this role will be to lead primary research efforts into wealth management related technology utilized within financial advisor practices and within broker/dealers, registered investment advisors (RIAs), bank trust companies, and asset managers. The role will also support other research efforts across the wealth management research team.
Cerulli’s Wealth Management practice focuses on trends related to financial advisors and the wealth management firms with whom they affiliate, including:
- In-depth competitive analysis and qualitative coverage of the largest B/Ds, RIAs, private banks, and bank trust companies
- In-depth analysis of financial advisor practices, including key characteristics, differentiating factors, challenges, risks, and opportunities
- Distribution strategies for retail asset management products sold through and/or utilized by wealth management firms and their affiliated financial advisors in managing their client’s investments
- Strategies for wholesaling teams, including structure, compensation, and resource allocation
- Competitive dynamics underlying marketshare shifts across wirehouse, RIA, independent B/D, and other advisor affiliation models
- Wealth management related technology utilized by wealth management firms and their affiliated financial advisors
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Solicit financial advisors and senior executives at Broker/Dealers, RIAs, and Wealth Tech vendors to participate in research calls and perform other primary research to support the annual U.S. State of U.S. Wealth Management Technology report
- Assist with the development and maintenance of market sizing models
- Assist in managing surveys and models, including survey design, data gathering, data modeling and analysis, and exhibit creation
- Support strategic consulting engagements that pertain to the practice
- Contribute to other annual reports including Broker/Dealer marketplace, RIA Marketplace, and Advisor Metrics
- Assist account managers with client inquiries related to the practice's research content
- Manage any necessary partnerships with industry trade associations, publications, and media
The position offers significant industry exposure, including interactions with senior executives throughout the industry, coverage in industry publications, and potentially presenting at conferences and events.
Qualifications:
- 0 to 3 years of experience in a capacity related to retail wealth management services or wealth management technology
- Superior writing and communication skills
- Aptitude for synthesizing research, identifying trends, and providing commentary on relevant industry issues
- Attention to detail and emphasis on accuracy
- Ability to successfully execute multiple initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Proficient in Excel; able to manipulate and analyze sizeable amounts of data
- Experience with Alteryx is a plus
- Ability to cultivate a network of industry contacts for research purposes
- College degree; completion of, or progress toward, MBA, CIMA®, CFP®, or CFA® is a plus

$60,000
